- Weekly Newsletter 2/05/06
- Trish Stratus dislocated her right shoulder in her Women’s Title match against Mickie James at Backlash on Sunday. The medical team managed to put the shoulder back in place, and Trish is scheduled for an MRI scan. It is unknown as yet, whether the injury will cause Trish to miss any TV time.

- Kurt Angle added himself to the extremely long SmackDown! injury list this week, following cracked ribs received at the hands of Mark Henry. The World Strongest Man is gaining himself the unattractive reputation of being the most undesirable man to work with in WWE. This follows Henry injuring Batista in January earlier this year. However, some people believe the injury is a work, created to give Angle some time off to deal with some of the physical problems he’s been suffering with lately.

Booker T has benefited from this situation, as he now finds himself in the final of the King of the Ring tournament, as a result of Angle being forced to forfeit his spot.

- The main event for SmackDown!’s May PPV, Judgment Day, has been announced on WWE.com. The match will pit United States Champion, JBL, against World Heavyweight Champion, Rey Mysterio. With the depleted roster is looks likely that it will be a weak-looking card for the PPV, although the King of the Ring final will probably also take place.

- Rhino’s contract in TNA is believed to be expiring in July this year. With the news that ECW is returning as a full time promotion, many people believe he could be tempted to leave TNA, despite not being on great terms with WWE.

- Palmer Canon flew himself home from the European tour and requested his release from WWE. They did not want to let him go, but they eventually granted his release.

Reports have suggested that it something to do with some of the more experienced people in the locker-room and the constant ribbing that goes on.

I accept that its part of wrestling - but people going so far as to drive people out of the company - just makes me sick. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of JBL, but to bully somebody into quitting their job, obviously shows he couldn't give a damn about his colleagues and their families.

Its not the first time it has happened recently either, the Dicks were released as result of the constant ribbing they got in the SmackDown! locker-room. Some people obviously don’t know when they are going too far.

- Brock Lesnar recently settled his legal dispute with WWE. Also, this weekend the former WWE champion, is set to marry former WWE Women’s Champion, Sable. There is an eleven year age gap between the two, as Brock is 28, and Sable is 39 years old.

- Joey Styles was dropped from the PPV announce team for a second time in one month. Its no secret that Vince McMahon is content with the way Joey Styles has adapted to his role at WWE, since debuting at Taboo Tuesday in November.

As a result, the former ECW announcer was dropped from the announce team at Wrestlemania, in favour of the man he replaced, Jim Ross. Styles was forced to settle for the consolation prize – calling the hardcore match between Edge and Mick Foley.

Lightening struck twice, as it was instead JR’s voice opening the show. This time the only consolation for Styles, was announcing on Heat.

However, it is not all doom and gloom for Styles, as the promotion that made him famous, ECW, is set to make a full return later this year. It is expected that Styles will become the lead announcer in that promotion, with Ross returning to his post at RAW.

- Speaking of ECW, it has been announced that WWE vs ECW special will take place on June 7th. The main-event of the show is believed to be a battle royal, although nothing has been confirmed at this stage.
